Tarangire National Park

Spanning at an area of 2600 square kilometers, Tarangire National Park is the six largest national parks in Tanzania. This national park is an ideal choice who wants to avoid crowds and want to explore its wildlife in solitude. The name of Tarangire National Park comes the river Tarangire that flows through this park. you can reach this national park by flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport, which is 46 km away from Arusha.

Best Time to visit

July to October is the best time to visit Tarangire National Park. The national park offers and exceptional game-viewing experience during these months. And if you visit Tarangire National Park in this dry season you can witness the animal migration. 

The less rainfall in these months improves the visibility which helps you spot higher number of animals. 

But, if you want to go for birding, November to April is the most ideal time to visit Tarangire National Park. 

Wildlife

Tarangire National Park boats an incredible diversity of wild animals. This park gets jampacked in sheer number of wildlife such as giraffes, bohor reedbuck, coke hartebeest, Thompson’s gazelle, greater and lesser number of kudus. Along with these, on a safari in Tarangire National Park you can spot common African animals such as lions, African bush elephant (more than 3000), leopards, hippos, cheetahs, cape buffaloes and giraffes and many others.
